MacOS9 on MacOSX: SheepShaver, Fusion...

We've got DirectX 8 running on Fusion under the MacOS, we've got BootCamp that can run Windows XP, Vista and Linux - but where is the full speed MacOS9! All I want to do is run a few incredibly essential applications (Carmaggedon 2) with decent graphics!

How does SheepSaver run? The homepage says running it under non-PPC gives you 1/8th speed? Any other ways to do it?
