Ok, I have been using Macpar deluxe for a long time now.
The problem is that if there are broken files, it renames broken files for example, rarfile.part01.rar to rarfile.part01.rar.1
This isn't a problem as the contents are of an archive and doesn't seem to make any difference with unrarx.
However, if the content files are actually raw files and not compressed or archived for example a doc file, it will still rename the file to .doc.1 and therefore will be unable to open, even renaming the file just makes it currupt.
So you then have to delete for example the original broken .doc and keep the .doc.1, and run the process again, macpar then uses the .doc.1 to repair the missing .doc.
I have no problem with doing this with one or two files, but if you have 15 broken .doc's, it can be very frustrating, going through the process i explained previously.
Like I said previously, it is a problem for raw files only, not compressed or archived.
My question is, does anyone now of a script or new rule that you can apply to the software to overwrite the broken file with the repaired file without renaming it with an extension of .1 .2 .3 etc?
