Howdy

Wasn't too sure where to put this, this seemed like the most appropriate place.

Self-updated and all that, and yet it still yells this at me:

:info:build checking X paths... failed
:info:build configure: error: /opt/local/bin/xmkmf (imake) failed.
:info:build Make sure you have all necessary X development packages installed.
:info:build On some systems a missing /lib/cpp symlink is at fault.
:info:build kdebase3-3.5.10-7 configure failed!
:info:build shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_kde_kdebase3/kdebase3/work/kdebase-3.5.10" && ./CompileScript.sh all " returned error 1
:error:build Target org.macports.build returned: shell command failed (see log for details)
:debug:build Backtrace: shell command failed (see log for details)
while executing
"command_exec build"
(procedure "portbuild::build_main" line 8)
invoked from within
"$procedure $targetname"
:info:build Warning: the following items did not execute (for kdebase3): org.macports.activate org.macports.build org.macports.destroot org.macports.install
:notice:build Log for kdebase3 is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_kde_kdebase3/kdebase3/main.log

I recently started using XQuartz, could this be the problem?

Looks like it's trying to build KDE?

:error:build Target org.macports.build returned: shell command failed (see log for details)

what does the log say?

Thats the truncated log when the error began. I did not want to post a big wall'o'text. It bores people out.

For those who want to see the full log: http://pastebin.com/jQb3sMku

And yes, I am trying to install the KDE3 port. Why KDE3? For the fun of it

Look towards the end of the log:

That's your problem. Either make sure you have the X packages installed, and if you do, make sure your system knows where to find them

I have the X devel packages installed, but I do not know how to create a symlink
