Good Evening...Last week my Nvidia 8800GT died, and since then my MP 1.1 was dead !!!
Today i got an ATI 2600 from another MacPro 1.1 and put it in my MP.
I installed Lion 10.7.5 without problems, and i tried to boot using an XFX 8800GT. Voila it boots perfectly (without EFI screens) and the performance is like my old Apple's 8800Gt.
I had to give that card back cause it was not mine, but before i gave it i wanted to check if MY Vga (a Nvidia GTX460 2Gb@256 bit) would ever boot.
Can you Guess??? OF course it did and the Lion OS also recognized all the size of Ram (2GB).
I am happy and thankful to you guys for helping me to do the Installation with Lion 10.7.5!!!
Next step is to find a bios to modify the GTX's 460 bios..or do you suggest to enjoy the card the way it is now????
( i suppose that every Vga card would be capable to be used with the 10.7.5 version except the very new ones )
