ok I picked up 2 Apple desk tops.
1: 2005 G5 that is on 10.4.11 (I think)
2: 2006-7 Mac Pro 1,1 3.0ghz dual core “intel” Xeon with 5gb of ram and running 10.5.8.

Older one has no WiFi and so I connected through Ethernet and it showed it was “connected” but had a status of “Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect”

Newer Mac Pro has the exact same issue as the first one , so when I try “WiFi” it shows full signal bars, says connected but takes about 3-5 minutes to load a page or gives error stating can’t connect.

When I go under system-preferences/network and “Ethernet” the “router” is blank next to it but has IP & Subnet mask info present.

WiFi has all the info filled in ever “router” under TCP/IP and even under DNS tab it has greyed out numbers.

Is it possible this is all happening cause on an outdated OSX ?

I renewed DHCP lease a few times, edited and deleted locations and added them, tried different Ethernet cables, restarted the cable router/modem a few times, called Apple, called my ISP.
Nothing....
