Been playing with 2.6/16/512 and MPC-BE with Lavos filters and MadVR on Windows.
For the uninitiated this is a potent combo of decoding/rendering filters that aims to give the best quality video possible. The high resolution screen suits a sharper image, and the fullly pumped up renderers look fantastic.
Unfortunately (and predictably) the Iris 5100 can't handle anything but the low to medium settings on MadVR:
On a 1080p video it starts to slideshow when maximised, even a lower bitrate 720p video does. And there is the battery life and noise impact from even the medium settings and the CPU does a bit more work and the machine fan kicks in.
Wouldn't be surprised if the 15" could handle this, maybe on dGPU version though (and probably not top tier for all 3).
