Hello, I am looking for recommendations.

I have a MacPro 3,1 (Early 2008) that I am using as a media server.

MacOS 10.11.6
2 x 2.8 Quad-Core Xeon with
10GB Ram and
ATI HD 5770
5bay Sonnet Fusion eSata Raid

I am upgrading the Sonnet to 12TB here soon, and I trying to decide if I wanna upgrade to Mojave using "macOS Mojave Patcher Tool for Unsupported Macs" method. I read all about how a non METAL GPUs makes Mojave Un-usable, but if kept this computer as a sever it would headless, just using it as a media server, and it would only see a monitor when I had to do any stuff that I couldn't do remotely.

3,1 is..
SMB for Network storage.
PLEX for Media and Streaming and AppleTV
iTunes for AppleTV

I also want upgrade to Mojave because I have all my other computers on Mojave and want to use Apple Sever to use the computer as a network TimeMachine. We have a iMac 5k, MacPro 5,1, and laptops on the same network.

I also have a NVIDIA GT 120 and a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT for Mac, neither of which are gonna help me with Mojave, but I have them. I have GTX 680 and Vega's, but they are in the other computers.. and can't be swapped into a 3,1.

I also though of just installing a Linux Variant to run as a server or NAS, but I will loose iTunes and TimeMachine.

Is there a way to use the patch to install Mojave but disable any graphics options so it can run headless smoothly?

Anyone else have success headless Mojave without a METAL GPU?

Thank You.

GT 740 will drive a 4k panel.

Why even worry about Mojave? Just keep it off line.
