MacPro 3,1 shutting down during boot up

Hi all,

Having been working fine for a while, and with no changes to hardware or software, my 2008 MacPro has started shutting itself down sudenly during boot up. It gets past the chimes, I can hear things spinning up and then after 10-15 seconds it just cuts out, before the boot screen even appears. Is this a power supply problem?

Any suggestions welcomed!
