Hey guys, does anyone have info on setting up Port Multiplier equipment for a macpro?
Just for reference, it is a 2.8 dual quad core, if this should help define compatibility.

Wondering if i am missing some detail about port multiplier equipment use, as i can not seem to find any specific directions for setup of this kind of system. So i am making the (maybe wrong) assumption it should just be plug and play?
Once the software from the sonnet card is installed i do not see any way to modify or change settings in system prefs, or anywhere else for that matter, am i missing something?

I have a Sonnet E4P port multiplier enabled card, that seems to work perfect when plugging in a single eSATA hard drive enclosure.
I have installed Sonnet’s latest firmware Version: 2.1.7 Posted Feb. 13, 2009.

Also i just received a 8 drive enclosure with 2 SATAPMH141 port multiplier hubs.

I have not been unable to see/read the drives when plugging in the sonnet card to the new enclosure tower through Finder or Disk Utility on verified working drives, but i get a green light on the “H Link” PM hub when plugging it into the sonnet E4P card, where i do not get the green light plugging the new enclosure into a generic eSATA card that does not have PM abilities.

It would seem highly unlikely that both new hubs would be malfunctioning, and i believe the sonnet E4P to be operational

Any tips on what was required to make this equipment work on your setup or even procedures you had to follow through on to make it operational?

Any advice from experienced people with port multipliers would be appreciated.

Thanks
