The X-Plane flight simulator allows you to display the simulation on one screen while displaying flight tracking on another. I currently have an 8-core Mac Pro with a single 8800GT video card. Whe flying around cities things get a little slow due to the amount of objects to render.
The flight tracking is also done with OpenGL so I am thinking of driving each monitor with its own 8800GT. This way the city flights can speed up to an acceptable rate.
Has anyone tried this type of setup and if so how were the results?
I still have the original ATI 2600 that came in the box from Apple. Not to sure about asking X-Plane to deal with two OpenGL libraries.
The LCDs are 1600x1200x32 each.
