MacPro input lag when starting

Whenever I start/restart my MP, I am unable to interact with the unit for 2-3 minutes. The mouse pointer will move, but I cannot click on items, nor will the dock icons magnify until 2-3 minutes after.

I have done a clean install now and have taken out the 4890. Everything is back to stock but it continues to occur.

Any advice?

Hm, tough one... Have you tried booting with nothing plugged unto your USB & FW ports? Perhaps your MP is having a hard time recognizing one of your devices.

This solved my issue exactly. It was the MX Revolution mouse after having the Logitech software installed.

This was driving me crazy and only figured it out after several clean installs and your advice on tracking down USB devices.

Glad it worked for you! It's always good practice when troubleshooting any computer to boot with nothing plugged into I/O ports to eliminate the possibility that whatever problem you're having is due to external devices.
