Hi there people

Needing your help desperately here.

I'm in the UK - I recently moved from London to Brighton.
Mac Pro working fine before I left.
Now, if I have say Lightroom open, & the browser, the fan freaks out, revs high; the little coloured wheel starts spinning; it jams. I am unable to force quit anything - it won't let me.
The monitor also dips to black, & has horizontal stripes running through it.

My friend says it is a power issue. Unfortunately he is not close by to investigate further.

What do you guys think.
Previously I was able to have Premierpro lightroom, multiple browsers, spotify open.. all at once no problem.

Is there some kind of adapter perhaps that I might be able to purchase?
The building I am now in is an old commercial building with multiple power sockets.

Please help!

If you are looking to get a UPS to protect your Mac Pro from dirty or out of spec mains power, you could do a lot worse than an APC SMT1000I from APC.com. The key factor in a UPS for a modern Mac Pro is the Pure Sine Wave feature.

If you are renting, you should be able to notify your landlord of the mains power problems and request an inspection or fix.
