Hello Folks!
I have embarked in a resurrection project of my MacPro 1,1 (I know...)
Due to the limitations of MacOs only running up to ElCapitan, I resorted to Windows 10 instead.

I have upgraded RAM to 28gb and added a ATI Radeon Sapphire HD5870 video card.

Everything seems to run fine except randomly I get a freeze while playing video of any kind. Can be anything from a local .mp4 to an animated GIF on facebook or other websites, YouTube videos or even animated ads on webpages. It is not very frequent but frequent enough to be annoying.

The system freezes and there is nothing I can do to recover short of power cycling.

Looking at the event analyzer the only relevant item I find is ACPI eventID 13 (like this). I'm not sure if it's the cause or the effect.

I tried removing the custom AMD driver I had installed and reverted back to windows native driver but it still happens.

Any clue what it might be or how to solve it?

Thank you!!!

If that GPU can be flashed, re-flash the firmware to factory. The forums at techpowerup.com are a great resource for figuring out how to do this.

Glitched GPUs are known to cause gremlins like you're experiencing.
