I'm using a Macbook Pro (OS X 10.6.5), and I've been using this laptop for almost 2 years now but never encountered a problem like this.
The AirPort status shown in the menu bar seems to say the macbook is connected to the wifi I've been using for forever at home, and the connection shows a strong full internet connectivity as usual. but the problem is, when I try to use any application (Safari, Skype, etc.) with internet, it doesn't seem to work. it doesn't come up that I'm not connected to internet, it just won't load. even if I refresh the page on Safari, it doesn't load but doesn't bring up the page that says am not connected to internet as well.
What I've done so far is:
(1) Opened up a Diagnostics from Network in the System Preference. let it run and got a message "Your internet connection appears to be working correctly".
(2) I've turned off the wifi and turned it on again. it works for about 10 seconds, and lose it again. every time I reconnect, this happens.
(3) I've restarted my computer and Safari for 3-4 times now, but it's still the same.
(4) Used my friend's Macbook Pro (which is connected to the wifi I am) to compare the Network settings on System Preference. I didn't see any major settings to be different.
This is extremely beyond my understanding since I can't think of anything I've done lately to the Macbook that can cause this. I've run CleanMyMAc app earlier, and removed some files but since I've done it before many times, I don't think it's the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
