Earth (for now)
I picked up a Mac Pro 2006 recently and have since flashed it to the 2007 model, and have also added an OEM Bluetooth module (A1115, Cambridge Silicon Radio) and an OEM AirPort module (BCM94321MC, Broadcom). Both 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth work just fine in OS X 10.7.5 Lion, but both are categorized together under "Bluetooth PAN" in the Network preferences. Why?

There is an AirPort entry, but it is not connected. However, note that this Lion install was originally from a different Mac, so perhaps the AirPort entry is for a different AirPort card and should be deleted. Should I delete that?

I haven't checked the Network prefs in OS X 10.11 El Capitan yet since the aftermarket memory (without the big heatsinks) is unstable, so I currently am only running on the original 1 GB RAM. 2 GB RAM is needed to run El Capitan, and I'm waiting for my OEM RAM orders to arrive.

BTW, even in Lion, running with just 1 GB RAM is intolerable.

I tried adding a new AirPort entry, and this is what I get:

If I turn off WiFi, both Bluetooth PAN and the new WiFi are off. If I turn on WiFi for just the new WiFi entry, it turns on both, with Bluetooth PAN active, but with the IP address only for Bluetooth PAN. Regardless, WiFi continues to work fine.
