MacPro5.1 Tray connection

I honestly have no idea what i should search for, but here is my question.

What is the link between the CPU tray and Main Logicboard called (is there a generic term?) and what is the speed of it?

If anyone has knowledge about the connection, what is thr pro's and con's?
