Here is a new problem that I couldn't find even in the MRoogle search. Below is the error message I get when I try to empty the trash. Anyone with any ideas

The operation can’t be completed because the item “MacProtectMonitor” is in use.

Thanks for the advice. That is the first thing I always try but this time it never even occurred to me
