Hi all,

Just a thought stemming from a post in the "Oprah Sued" thread...
Would anyone be interested in starting up a 'MacRumors Comedian of the Week' Contest? Here's what I said:
It would be just like the Weekly Photo Contest, and people nominate amusing posts from the week, then at the end of the week, last-week's comedian gets to choose the winner. They receive title of MacRumors Comedian of the Week and get to choose who to pass it on to next.

Does anyone else think this would work/be a good idea?

*prepares for insults and ridicules*

Isn't most of the humour around here unintended?

But sure, it sounds like a fun idea. ^^

Just do it. You never know if threads are going to work until to you try. I think it could be fun.

The question is logistics. Obviously there would be a time frame associated with when people could make nominations, but how long weekly, every other week, etc.. And how would it be judged? Do people vote or is there a specific judge. Also, what posts are eligible and who is the winner, the person who made the original funny comment or the person who nominated them?

Think it through, come up with a workable system and go for it. :)

Sounds like a good idea. Although if it doesn't work out, it will be fun to look at others funny postings. Ill try to find some and post them. Although the part about the "Comedian of the week" chooses the next one, isn't that fair. Maybe have a poll on the top and anyone can vote.
Although I doubt the administrators or whatever will want to do it.

WAIT, HOLD THE PRESSES. We have a weekly photo contest?

It's in the photography sub-forum. There are quite a few contests actually with different associated rules and time frames. You can find some great work in them as well. We have many talented members here.

Edit: Just realized you are probably being sarcastic. Sorry for my rush to be helpful.
