For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Lululook to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win a 13-inch iPad Air and a Lululook Foldable Magnetic Charging Mount to go along with it.

Lululook makes all kinds of stands and accessories for the iPad and other Apple products, and its $100 Foldable Magnetic Charging Mount is not quite like other stands you've seen. It's a desk stand that clamps on to the edge of a desk or a table, with an adjustable arm that can be tilted and angled to get the perfect viewing position.

An iPad connects directly to the mount using magnets that hold it securely in place, while the other end clamps to a desk. There are actually 88 small magnets to ensure that your iPad isn't going to go anywhere. A joint on the clamp allows it to be rotated 360 degrees, and there's also another joint at the top, so it's easy to reposition.

A USB-C cable provides power, and the iPad is able to charge through the Smart Connector. With the three section arm, it can be shifted around on a desk, so it's perfect for setting up an iPad as a second monitor, or attaching one to a worktable where you want to be able to watch video content while the iPad is out of your workspace. You can use it in either landscape or portrait mode. There are versions of the stand for the 13-inch 2024 iPad Pro models and the 2025 iPad Air models, plus it works with some older iPads too, including the 2018 and later 13-inch iPad Pro models.

Lululook has plenty of other stand options too, if you don't need the clamp design. The Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand for the 13-inch iPad Pro and Air is $90, and it has a clean, Mac-like look. It charges an iPad via Smart Connector, and it has two 360-degree pivot points for adjustability. The stand is made from aluminum alloy so it has a sleek look that blends well with Apple devices.

There's also the $80 Magnetic iPad Stand for the 13-inch iPad Pro and iPad Air, which is a good option if you don't need included charging. It has a 360-degree rotating base, and it is height and angle adjustable so you can get it into just the right position. It rotates into portrait or landscape mode, and magnets hold it securely in place.

I like the concept, but Lululook's accessories are a little bit suspicious to me. I bought a stand from them last summer to use with my 2020 iPad Pro, and experienced a range of issues including:
- network access being obstructed by the metal used in the accessory
- the iPad recognizes the stand as a Chinese hardware keyboard and won't show the software keyboard by default, causing you to have to hit the "show keyboard" button every time you want to type something (assuming you don't have a real hardware keyboard)
- major lag and graphical issues, including a random shutdown with a magenta screen that lasted for like 6 minutes.

so yeah, steer clear of lululook, even if it's for free

Would be nice to have a few of these around. One at the desk, one at your bed, one in the kitchen, so you can place your iPad on them when moving about the house through the day.

I have one and love it (different brand). I opted for one without the built in charger because I heard mixed reviews, so just run my own cable. Just took this photo now.

Actually, this will work for the home screen whatever Apple is working on where everybody in the house can have one screen and look up stuff.

The way the cable runs along the side of the arm like that looks really cool. Wish my monitor arm looked that cool, and was that reticulated. I'm sure it helps that an iPad arm doesn't have to carry nearly the weight of an LCD monitor.
Good luck.

that keyboard error prompt seems like it would be a huge problem/bug for something like this. maybe it was something subsequently fixed in iOS updates?

Damnit. I knew this is the one I should have bought on temu instead of the gooseneck ones. The gooseneck ones are ok but they're kinda stiff and like, I wonder if these ones maybe can swivel more "intentionally", whereas the goose neck ones, they kinda work but I think the "aesthetic" on these more solid ones looks a little better like, if you have it in your bedroom or something

nope, still happens to this day. i got the stand last summer and occasionally still use it to hold the ipad vertically or for watching videos. i had originally gotten it to have more comfortable viewing angles for working than the magic keyboard, but after so many issues with it that caused me to lose work, it’s mostly just been sitting in a drawer :/

Thank you for the followup and feedback. I was already suspicious of a company whose name sounded almost like Lululemon, whose stands look almost like those of TwelveSouth, and whose chargers look almost like Anker chargers.
