For this week's giveaway we've teamed up with MAXOAK to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win a Bluetti EB240 Power Station, a high-capacity portable battery that's ideal for emergency power, power outages, off-grid living, camping, and other similar purposes.

The EB240 Power Station features a 2400Wh battery that supports a maximum of 1000W continuous power draw, though it can support up to 1200W for two minutes. The Power Station is equipped with a 3C high rate LG battery cell designed for automobiles, which MAXOAK says has a 2500+ charge life cycle.

Priced at $1600 after a $200 discount on the Amazon site and another $95 off with promo code "bluetti15," the EB240 features a compact design with easily accessible ports and a handle to make it simple to transport wherever it's needed. The EB240 Power Station measures in at 20 inches by 14.4 inches by 6.5 inches and it weighs 48.5 pounds.

There are two AC 110V outlets for household devices like televisions, refrigerators, CPAP machines, and similar high-powered appliances, along with a 12V9A Cigar Lighter to support car-powered devices like miniature fridges and car vacuums. There's a 45W USB-C port for charging laptops, iPhones, and iPads, along with four 5V3A USB-A ports for other smaller devices and accessories like cameras, lights, smartphones, and more.

Recharging the EB240 can be done in 12 hours through a wall outlet, but for off-the-grid power, it can be recharged using a solar panel with efficient MPPT technology built in (solar panel not included). A pure sine wave inverter and a battery management system protect devices from overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuiting, and temperature issues.

With 2400Wh, the EB240 can charge a smartphone up to 255 times before it runs out of juice. It can charge a tablet 88 times, a camera 400 times, and a 60W laptop 34 times. It can power an 800W refrigerator for 2.6 hours, a 100W LCD TV for 24 hours, a 10W light for 204 hours, and a 60W CPAP machine for 34 hours. Power level is available through an included LCD screen.

The power in my town frequently goes out and if it does on a hot day, that's a really big problem (in the desert).
This 2.4 kWh PowerBank would be perfect to keep fans or an EVAP cooler running for several hours until the power returns.
I feel like a sucker but I entered the contest (first time in my life). Of course I won't win and my email will get sold to spammers - but what the heck

i know, i can feel the spammers revving their engines now! Lol

at 48 pounds the darn thing should be on wheels and have a telescoping handle... just saying.

I agree with zorinlynx... was really getting into the idea of one until I saw $1600 AFTER promotions. Yikes. I guess I will have to suffer in the dark.

1200W for 2 min. lol.

What do you own that uses 1200W??

It says right in the story that it will power an 800w fridge for 2.5 hours...that's pretty good IMHO.

Just being able to plug in my wifi router and run my computer/monitor for a day makes me want this...especially working from home with important presentations to give online!

This is one of those products that at first you're like, "Oh cool! I should get one!" Then you look at the price and it suddenly stops being so cool.

Yeah, I always think these big power stations are neat. They do come much cheaper, just without quite as much battery capacity.

We definitely don't sell your email addresses. We only collect them so I can email winners when contests end. I try to be very respectful of the privacy of our readers with our giveaways!

Oh boy, I entered all the ways possible. I live in Sonoma County in California. We've already had several rolling blackout power outages by our power company these past couple of weeks, and the Air Quality Index has been steadily over 200 for several days due to all the fires around us. So no going outside when the power is out (as if COVID reason wasn't enough). I really need to look into buying one of these, though I'd be looking at a much lower model in my price range.

This time I am glad I am not eligible for this giveaway/not living in the States nor *Canada, we almost never have blackouts here, I can't really remember the last outage, must have been >5 years ago.

Aside from that, this is hugely expensive, buy a few items like a UPS, a few extra batteries and a few USB A/C chargers...put them all together in a neat box, connect all and you safe yourself $1000+

*Hmmm, would like to live there...actually...nope...too cold...hehe.

I didn't see a mention of a UL listing on the Amazon page. But I know almost nothing about such batteries; does Underwriters Laboratories not test them?

The errors in the written English on the Amazon page don't inspire confidence, either.

*Hmmm, would like to live [in Canada]...actually...nope...too cold...hehe.

I'm not Canadian but I've heard the climate in Vancouver, British Columbia is nice.

2,4kWh... nice... but quite frankly the use case for that is rather limited.
For stationary backup you can get an equally sized lead acid battery and a pure sine inverter for a fraction, possibly a second inverter for redundancy (for medical use that might be quite relevant).

1200W for 2 min. lol.
It's rated 1000W.
1200W is overload which the inverter can thermally sustain for 2 minutes.
That is NOT the battery runtime.
At 1000W load it will run for >2h.
If you need a couple kW power go buy a UPS and a Diesel-generator... >_>

I would love to win this, it a a rare we get power outages it would be nice. I have a kerosene heater if I loose heat during the winter because of a ice store.
