For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Henge Docks to give MacRumors readers a chance to win a Gravitas dock for the iPhone or iPad.

Made from a heavy, sturdy metal alloy base, the Gravitas is designed for single-handed docking and undocking, but it's also made to minimize the amount of space that it takes up on a desk.

It is made from an alloy that's 265 percent denser than aluminum and it weighs in at 2.5 pounds, giving it enough stability to work with both the iPhone and the iPad. Due to the design, it's compatible with thin cases, such as those made by Apple, but it won't work with thicker Otterbox-style case options.

The Gravitas works with the iPhone 6, 6s, 7, and 7 Plus, along with multiple iPad models. It ships with a three-foot USB cable for charging and it also features a 3.5mm Stereo Audio Out port for listening to music.

Henge Docks normally charges $69 for the Gravitas, but we have four docks to offer to MacRumors readers for free. To enter to win, use the Rafflecopter widget below and enter an email address. Email addresses will be used solely for contact purposes to reach the winner and send the prize. You can earn additional entries by subscribing to our weekly newsletter, subscribing to our YouTube channel, following us on Twitter, or visiting the MacRumors Facebook page.

Due to the complexities of international laws regarding giveaways, only U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to enter. To offer feedback or get more information on the giveaway restrictions, please refer to our Site Feedback section, as that is where discussion of the rules will be redirected.

The contest will run from today (April 21) at 11:45 a.m. Pacific Time through 11:45 a.m. Pacific Time on April 28. The winners will be chosen randomly on April 28 and will be contacted by email. The winners will have 48 hours to respond and provide a shipping address before new winners are chosen.

Just in time to be obsolete in September

All likely rumors point to a Lightning-to-USB-C on the new iPhone. Plus, everyone is going to have several of those USB-A plugs from Apple as well as all the other USB-A plugs for various electronics. This is a non-issue.

[doublepost=1492811830][/doublepost]You are assuming it will still have bezels. Part of the screen will be obscured too. And no real home button so that space they have there now may be useless. And yeah there is the possibility of USB-C

Bought one of these a year ago... it's the only dock I have ever used that works and is not a struggle to plug in or unplug and is actually worth using.

With the shown inserts, and the promised available inserts for future gen iPhones/iPads, I doubt that'll be a problem. Winners should get at least a couple of years use out of them.

Even if purchased, quite an enticing item actually, imho. One look at their website will tell you a lot of thought has gone into designing these Gravitas docks. From the hefty 2½ lb weight to compensate for the modest footprint, to the TouchId cutout, to the USB and Audio jacks with an included USB cable, this is an attractive package at a decent price point for those looking for an iPhone/iPad dock.

No, Apple is sticking with their dumb connector at least for another generation. Edit: Oh, you mean the iPhone shape? IDK.

Not anymore. I don't want to buy an expensive dock then have my phone randomly consider it "not genuine" one day. My iPhone 4 is still sitting in my iHome alarm clock, though, and I like it.

The Gravitas people have no love for the iPhone SE... they think I bought it because it was cheap, and i won't spend on accessories? Sorry, I bought it because it was small, and the dock (of which i've never heard before today) looks good. Too bad I can't use it...

You can buy the SE insert for a few dollars. In fact you should be able to buy an insert for future iPhones as well.

That's kind of par for the course with Henge. I recall when the old Retina MacBook Pro was released they did a press release about having received theirs and an imminent release of a doc for the (at that time) new machine. I think it took them over three years to finally get something to market and it ended up being totally different than what they had announced in 2012. Communication during that period was just awful too, seems to be a completely mismanaged company and lost my business.

I do. I have one stationed in the kitchen that houses an iPod Touch that serves as a media device to AirPlay out to speakers in my apartment. It's just a cheapo one from eBay, but has some good adjustability to suit various iDevices with or without a case -- and it does this without lame "inserts".

Oh right, thanks for pointing it out. It's mentioned nowhere on the main product page that there is a 5/5S/SE insert. You have to go to Accessories to find it, which i obviously didn't do when I first checked it out.

I used to - but once the connector starts to go, you're left with a useless lump. I use a dumb stand now - it's a little less "clean" looking with the cabling, but it serves the purpose well, and will be new-model compatible for quite some time, as it could accommodate anything but the largest tablets right now.

This is specifically the one I use, but there are other brands/models available.

I definitely count myself in the group of people who constantly use docks. And good news for me, because I won the giveaway! I think this is the first drawing I've ever won.

I currently use the Lamicall Stand (when connected to headphone amp via lightning to 30-pin) and a Native Union Dock+ (when charging/syncing to rMBP)
