For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with ColorWare to give MacRumors readers a chance to win a set of custom-painted AirPods, which are available in dozens of different colors.

ColorWare is a company that's been around for quite some time, offering custom paint jobs and unique skins for a range of electronic devices. AirPods can be ordered from ColorWare in custom colors for a fee of $299, with an additional $40 fee to paint the case a matching shade.

At $299 (or $349 with the case), there's a premium for choosing AirPods from ColorWare, but ColorWare is the only site that offers one-of-a-kind color options you can't get anywhere else.

ColorWare's AirPods can be ordered in one of several solid or metallic colors, with both gloss and matte finishes available. Traditional black, gold, silver, and gray shades are options, but there are also a several bright shades in every color of the rainbow. If you want AirPods in teal, red, green, purple, or pink, ColorWare is the way to go.

You can choose to have both AirPods custom painted in the same color along with the case, or you can get each AirPod and the case all in different colors, meaning there are quite a few available color combinations.

ColorWare has been custom-painting devices since 1998 and has had a lot of time to perfect the painting process. The company uses a coating process that includes a primer, an application of a proprietary color formula, and an X2 liquid plastic coating that protects the new color.

Because ColorWare is using traditional AirPods, full AirPods functionality is intact, with a W1 chip for easy pairing, a long battery life, a built-in accelerometer for ear detection, iCloud support for quick device switching, and support for gestures.

We have one set of custom-painted AirPods and Charging Case to give away, with the winner to choose the color and finish of their choice. We've also teamed up with ColorWare to offer MacRumors readers an exclusive 30 percent discount on all iPhone, iPad, and Mac skins, which is a more affordable way to get a fresh device color.

Just received mine this week. Can vouch for their excellent work! And matte black AirPods are spectacular. Free would’ve been great but I’m still thrilled.

The matte black is -according to my 12 year old- lit. I concur. Even my cynical 17 year old says they look great. A matte red case is the consensus better choice in my house but the gloss red looks okay as well. Seeing these outside of Colorware's marketing photos is a great advertisement for their product. I'm impressed. Enjoy.

Dark Purple please. If all colors, Purple will always be the superior choice for everything. I just wish I was born with Purple eyes.

Have had my ColorWare AirPods (black with cobalt case) for almost a year now I think. Quality is decent, some overspray on the case. My only complaint is that, and I’m not kidding here, ear oils/wax cause the paint to flake off. I had to send mine back after a few months to get repainted, which they covered for free this time. They said they would not cover it again, and advise cleaning them very well after each use. I give them a quick wipe each time, and that’s not enough apparently. So while they do look great, they are a bit high maintenance.

crazy how with the watch apple clearly recognizes the need for people to have a thousand different color and styles of bands but not with these

Matte red was my first call too. Then I figured a gloss case might show scratches less. That plus shiny red would be easiest to spot if somehow (*cough* child) the case ended up under a table or something. Btw, loving the AirPods too. Never had a phone call in both ears before. The caller’s voice is in the middle of my head. Totally weird. Also, seamlessly and instantly paired with the bedroom Apple TV, so I can inconspicuously watch a show after the missus dozes off. Lightly used for a week and the case battery is only down to 47%. No idea yet why some people knock these things. ‘Cept Siri, of course.

matte black looks so much better than white, but as usual, apple knows the best what is best for you. just introduce watch band number 2561

EarBuddyz, EarHooks, Earhoox, AirPod Strap, AirRings, etc.
Nice suggestions, but I need to overpay for the Apple branding!

In all seriousness AirRings are closest to what I want, but I’d rather it be incorporated into the design and have a soft in-ear attachment. Normal EarPods hurt my ears and fall out all the time.

Their so small you have to ask are they even real do they work?!

I got the eoplay E8! Quality sound will test microphones this weekend. I’m expecting some decency. Incredible music fidelity that even these AirPods cannot match although they do sound great. Son will get a pair in 2mths due to delay from ColorWare.

When will ColorWare offer national flags with choice of back ground colour on both the case and the AirPods?

I want a Matte Black case with green, gold, with the black for my heritage Jamaican Flag (for one case and the other 1 of the proposed original 2 flags prior to the current official flag) and also on the AirPods as well. I think it would like slick!!!

Could somebody setup these as a pic done up for me please?
