For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Digiarty VideoProc to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win an iPhone 16 Pro and a lifetime license of VideoProc Converter AI to go along with it.

videoproc-giveaway.jpg

VideoProc Converter AI is an easy-to-use AI-powered tool for working with videos, images, audio, and DVDs. It has a range of different tools for converting file types, fixing files, compressing files, editing, making GIFs, and more. If you want to do something to a video, there's a good chance this software is capable of the task you want to accomplish.

For videos, there is an option to enhance blurry, noisy, grainy or compressed videos to get a better quality result, with the software able to upscale videos by up to 4x and provide better clarity and detail. A stabilization tool can reduce shake in videos, a noise remover cleans up noise in videos, and there are color correction tools for fixing color issues. If you have footage captured by a fisheye lens, there's an option to fix the distortion.

To fix low frame rates, there's an AI frame interpolation feature that adds in additional frames to make videos smoother, and it can boost videos up to 480 fps for 20x slow motion. For converting video, VideoProc Converter AI uses GPU acceleration for faster video encoding and decoding. Video transcoding and processing can be sped up significantly without impacting the quality of the output.

The app supports 320 video codecs and formats, including popular formats like MP4, HEVC, AVI, MOV, and MKV. Video can be imported from DJI cameras, GoPros, and other digital cameras, plus the app supports log videos from pro cameras, 3D video, and VR video. There are tools for changing video format, resolution, and frames per second, with no loss of quality.

To cut down on file size, there is a Compress tool that supports entering a target file size or using a compression ratio slider. There are seven video compression methods so you can find what works best.

VideoProc Converter AI supports video editing, with tools for cutting, trimming, and splitting video. Clips can be merged, cropped, and adjusted with one-click stylized cinematic effects. Audio volume and sync can be adjusted, and you can create slow or fast motion videos with controls to change speed. Watermarks are also an option so you can prevent your content from being stolen.

There is a built-in feature for downloading videos from popular social networks like YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch, in addition to thousands of other websites. You can even record video directly with the app using an iPhone or a webcam. When recording, the app supports picture-in-picture, iOS screen recording, and green screen mode, which is useful for filming gameplay videos or tutorials. You can also digitize and back up DVDs.

AI image editing is supported too, so you can also tweak your photos. There are options for upscaling and denoising images, repairing, retouching, and enhancing faces, and adding color to black and white images. With batch processing, over 3,000 photos can be edited at once.

VideoProc Converter AI works on all Apple silicon Macs. The app is free to try, but unlocking the complete suite of features requires the full version, which is priced at $25.95 for a one-year license or $45.95 for a lifetime license. Digiarty is offering MacRumors readers a discount on a lifetime license, dropping the price to $30. The license includes access to a 7-in-1 media toolkit, including AI Super Resolution for video upscaling, AI Frame interpolation for slow-motion playback, Image AI for upscaling, restoring, and colorizing, DVD backup, Mac and iOS device screen recording, and audio/image processing.

We have a lifetime license and an iPhone 16 Pro to give away to one lucky MacRumors reader. To enter to win, use the widget below and enter an email address. I bought this full price and it’s god awful. The encoder has problems with artifacts, the newest upscale ai models distort everything, and I don’t see a difference between their high quality encoder vs normal or fast at best quality settings.

Wish it was better because I bought lifetime 🙄.

I use it to upscale from dvd to 1080 or 720 and even dvd ripping to h.265.

DVDFab, even with it’s crashes, is way better.

Does anyone have experience with this, especially in comparison to Topaz Video Enhance AI (VEAI)? I've been using VEAI for years now, and it's been pretty handy for certain applications. I started using it to upscale older Star Trek Voyager episodes, which it did a great job with, and have been using for a variety of projects ever since.

My experience is that not every video is well suited to upscaling with VEAI so I'd love to see how a solid competitor's platform works.

I have been using this when the software itself was just called VideoProc then they renamed it to VideoProc Converter when they introduced VideoProc Vlogger. Since version 6, they added AI to the name as well as software capability.

This software converts videos very quickly provided you have a compatible GPU, like a high end or flagship NVIDIA GPU. If you will run the conversion with just the integrated GPU like the one from intel, you would need a lot of patience because of the processing time.

I mostly use it for converting videos from MOV to another format and I have never used the AI upscale or anything AI in this software.

For anyone interested with an older version of the software, you can visit https://www.videoproc.com/giveaway/

While it won't net you any 'fancy' upscaling and probably isn't as tightly integrated, MakeMKV + HandBrake is a compelling (and stable) combination for ripping, transcoding, and compression of disc-based content.
Ugh. Cloudflare says I'm not human...
While I thankfully don't encounter them around this site, I hate those things with a passion.

Snagged a copy to test for upscaling very old videos in the EDU environment. Note that the product description on the site says that the "AI Features" are not yet functional on MacOS". From the product website:

"Q: Are AI features now available on both Windows and Mac?

A: Currently, AI tools are exclusive to the Windows version, but we're actively working on bringing them into the Mac version.
For Windows users: By purchasing VideoProc Converter AI now, you'll have unlimited access to all features, including the three new AI tools
For Mac users: You can buy VideoProc Converter today, enjoy all its features without limitations, and receive free updates to access AI functionalities as soon as they become available on Mac!"

EDIT: According to post below the features *are* enabled but the website is out of date.

Thanks for having the giveaway!

I swear I only joined Threads to slightly improve my odds on these.

Is all the processing client-side? Looks like a compelling product.
I had the previous version that I used for DVD conversion and ended up with a free upgrade to this. I've run quite a few music DVDs through to upscale and enhance and some of the results have been excellent if the source is decent. For some where the source isn't so clean, it can give a few artifacts and halos/fringing. Overall though, I'm pretty happy with it but I didn't have to pay for it

I love these contests, but never win!

I love these programs, I'm a C5 Quadriplegic, I use my computer as much as possible. I love scanning family pictures and restoring them for anyone who need help. This sounds/looks like the perfect program for me.
