In the choose new wallpaper screen there is a generate suggestion field called "featured photos" and it chose and absolutely inappropriate photo from my camera roll that is years old to use as the icon. Why??? This is so wrong. I deleted the photo even and this icon is still the same. How do you get rid of this whole thing or reset it? What an incredible oversight from Apple...

I'm attaching a screenshot to demonstrate and I blurred the icon, but this shows what I'm talking about.

Perhaps keep that type of photos in your “Hidden photos” folder? I suspect it wouldn’t use photos from there as suggested for screenshots. If someone has access to that setting, they have access to your regular photos as well, so it’s not like they couldn’t see it. If you put them in that hidden folder, it’s locked with Face ID.

Cool, but it already generated this icon and that photo was from years before hidden album was a thing. It's there now and needs to be erased.

Have you tried setting it as a wallpaper to see if the icon would change?

Yes, I tried to set it, set a shuffled photos, put it in hidden, deleted it, and that icon is still the same. It's like the os made the example icon and stores it as a system file or something.

Yes, things get cached so it doesn't have to take time to regenerate all the previews every time you go to that screen. The cache will eventually get updated with a new image. How long ago did you hide or delete it?

Yesterday. I suppose I can wait and see what happens...

OKAY! I saw there was an update so I installed it and they seem to have changed this screen so that is no longer how the displayed items work.

Problem solved! Thanks for your replies though, I really appreciate it.
