If someone else has already posted this, I'm sorry for the redundancy, but I thought it was pretty cool that MR is in the LA Times today regarding the possible new 15/17-inch MBPs:

Is there any proof behind this rumor? Or is it just that, a rumor? To me, the whole thing sounds like speculation. But, I hope it's true. I love the idea of a slim 15" MacBook Pro without a SuperDrive. I guess that it's a real possibility given that there isn't a super drive in the new Mac mini and NAND flash prices are continuing to drop at a steady rate.

I don't know, this sounds like a bad idea. If it was a 15" MBA that be one thing but a slim MBP seems like a recipe for disaster. There's a reason why a powerhouse laptop needs the extra real estate Vs a average user computer like the MBP
