Hi there - just wondering what this would be like? Seems that a Google Wave is like a IM forum wiki mashup - seeing how sometimes the thread system needs alternative systems (how there are guides here as well as forum sections for example).
Would Macrumors be interested in trying this out? Some of the highly repetitive threads might dissipate a little - the other thing is that the wiki based acculumation of information and refactoring of information might increase?

Just some personal comments...

It'll be interesting to see what kind of collaborations are built by developers between Google Wave and forum systems. Some of the features would be quite a benefit. On the other hand, the instant-messaging-like features aren't ideal for a forum like this one, where users are asked to think before posting and avoid treating it like a chat room. Seeing the keystrokes as users type would be a move in the wrong direction.

It's obviously too soon to judge wave performance, but we do have to consider that Google's initial demonstrations involved small numbers of users, and a forum system like ours can have tens of thousands of participants, so it would have to scale well.

It provides much of what you'd use a wiki for (collaborative editing, rich text, history, searching) and the playback feature (which works like an animated history) would be especially helpful. It would be a pleasure to edit without having to use markup symbols as people to in a basic wiki. Perhaps the best feature is the ability to embed discussions at any point in the wave document. In my opinion, Google Wave may eventually replace many wikis rather than be integrated with them.
