MacRumors Moderators/Admins Title List

Hi All:

As a lot of you know, MacRumors uses the names of Motorola, PowerPC, and Intel processors as user titles. These range from the known titles (newbie, 68000, G3, G5) into the hidden titles such as P6, Penryn, Westmere, and Ivy Bridge. Moderators, however, do not have their typical user title displayed, instead having a “moderator” title. Here I’ve looked at the post counts (as of May 11, 2022) and put down the current rank (including secret ranks) of each moderator, administrator, or other staff member, along with the Moderators Emeritus who remain the top 50.



With that being said, here’s a list of the above-mentioned users, their post count, and their respective title.

Chart 1 details the number of moderators holding a particular rank.



Chart 2 shows the share of posts for each moderator.



Notes:

1. Maflynn is the top poster on MacRumors, holding the title of Haswell, being the only user, moderator or not, to hold this high rank.
2. Three staff members remain at the newbie rank, though I expect this is due to staff duties and simply not being active in the forums even though you are a staff member.
3. The most held rank in the moderators is P6, with four users holding it in the group.
4. Unsurprisingly, maflynn’s posts make up 17.1% of the moderators posts, with MacRumors articles being 14.0%.
5. Mad Jew holds the title of Nehalem today, though his post count would have likely been much higher had he not left, and would probably have outranked Maflynn.
6. Doctor Q stands as the second-highest non-bot poster in the ranks of the moderators, hovering far below Maflynn at the rank of Westmere.
