"Apple publicist Jill Tan said the company had no comment."

Imagine that. Apple with no comment. Does anyone in the Valley have an easier job than Apple PR?

Job Opening: Apple Public Relations

I think its pretty cool to be mentioned on such a huge site!!! The OP will probably be shocked when he sees this!

I could do that. What does it pay? I'll even type the 'no comment' manually.

Too bad the author didn't pick up the follow-up story that the girl still has her job.

Note that it's an AP article, so it's actually running on websites and in newspapers all over the place. Google News is currently seeing it on 160 sites.

Does anyone anywhere have an easier job? Yes, just but barely:

1) Singer for the B-52s
2) Weatherman in San Diego
3) Apple PR

There ya have it.

I like the end of the article where they stuff in the heart-warming "she wasn't fired". Of course not, it's China. She was shot.

Wonder if this girl will end up on the Ellen show.
"Did you think your photo was erased from the phone?" "Who took your picture?"

Doubt it. Getting a visa from there to here is not as easy as you might think.

I'll say it again, Apple should hire this girl to do a UK commercial at the very least, since they pulled the one commercial there this week.

The author does mention she was not fired but quotes a newspaper in China as the source for that.

I swear that wasn't there when I first saw the article, but based on the "last updated" info, I must have just scanned it too quickly.

Unfortunately, the official AP article has an incorrectly-formatted link to the thread here, and lots of other sites are including that incorrect link.
