This is an amusing OS X easter egg/glitch that I've never seen documented. I don't know how long this has been present as I just discovered it this evening.

It you use the speech service (whether through the services menu, the 'say' terminal command, or an application) to speak the word bullfrog it says "bullfrogs," and if you have it speak bullfrogs it says "bullfrog." What an odd little thing.:apple:

This appears to be a bug introduced in MacOS X 10.5. My new MacBook Pro running MacOS X 10.5.6 displays the bug. My old Power Mac G5 running MacOS X 10.4.11 does knows the difference between one frog and two.
 
I wonder if it does it for any other words.

BTW, how did you discover this?
