Macs=LOVE Apple's Ability to ship=HATE

Ok, I am awaiting my new MBP 17 inch all custom and everything, problem is.... it took 1 WHOLE week to ship, and 2 days for the shipped package, to well... um... ship... PACKAGE DATA!!!
I want anyone who has purchased a MBP recently to tell me how long did it take for yours to actually arrive.... Mine says:
Sep 20, 2007 8:49 AM (Mind you its now Sep 21, 2007 5:00 PM)

Package data transmitted to FedEx

And it is IP Direct Distribution, what ever that is....

One week's nothing. For a custom machine too, I'd say you're getting preferential treatment. I waited 6 - 8 weeks for my first mac... even my macbook took about 2 weeks to ship.

I think apple is generally poor about timeliness. there used to be all sorts of petitions on the web asking Steve Jobs to be more upfront about shipping times/ waits.

Or not enough so everything has to be ordered in to complete and order before it ships making it take an age (my iMac is expecting to arrive on the 11th October, I ordered it on the 13 September and its all standard spec).
