Trying to keep my G5 Games going. Purchased a used G5 Seems to work well. Problem, tying to load my MacSoft Games and have tried Four of them, none would completely install. Either they did not work at all or message that parts were missing. I was able to update the Operating system to 10.5.8 no issue. But these games, problem Seem like there is not enough memory, the installer gives up before finishing. Yet plenty of memory.

Try running the Repair Permissions option in Disk Utility. That sometimes resolves installer weirdness.

Is there an installer log file? It might point out where the problem lies. Otherwise, it could be defective media, or possibly faulty RAM.

I've seen similar behavior on my Dual 1.8ghz G5 and it turned out to be an unhappy RAM configuration. I downloaded, burned and booted into Apple Hardware Test to try to identify where the problem was coming from. It took a few hours to run through and pinpoint, but I ultimately took out a pair of 512MB sticks and it seems happy now (with 3GB total).
