Hi guys. Black Friday deals are popping up. I found macstudio with m2max (base model) at 1900 euros and a m1ultra selling at 2600 euros (guess it's the base model as well). What would you choose for video editing (FCPX) and audio production (protools and logic)? I'm interested in real world performance... BTW also found a 3800euros deal for the m2ultra is a bit too much for me. I know that waiting for M4 models would be the best choice for performance but such BF deals on this kind of mac are not so common in Italy....

M1 Ultra is faster in many workloads (excepted single core performance). The Ultra also has doubled the media engines and neural engines. You also get doubled RAM and SSD. I have bought a M1 Ultra instead of a M2 Max around 1 year ago for 2700 € (also Black Friday) and I’m very happy with it.

In the end it is your decision.
