I am a Mac User with a new Sony TRV350 camera. I have had success in importing my old sony 8mm movies, but I can't get vhs to import. I set the camera to VCR, on the menu options, selected "A/V->DV OUT ON" told iMovie (later Toast 6) to import, hit play on the VHS VCR, with no success.

I first tried inserting a blank video tape into the Sony, but only recorded one blank frame. Then I removed the tape, did all of the same things, and recorded only a blank movie, with no images.

Toast wouldn't let me do anything without a tape in the camera.

I will greatly appreciate any help, as the VHS is a memorial tape of my Mom.

Sincerely,

Leo mailto:rarefruit@san.rr.com

Try this: Import the VHS to a tape in the camera, then play the camera and import it. (BTW, this should have been posted in the "General Mac and Tech Discussion" section for the best exposure)
