I don't think you can expect an iMac.. maybe an Ultra-Portable Macbook..

We may see a speed bump but not a model redesign. Give it a another year maybe for that.

I think (just what i think) that apple will still go quite a long while with this model, maybe use new materials, but the same shape.. speed bumps need to happen :p

faster processor and more built-in RAM or at LEAST more RAM capacity.

i'm going to recording school. ie - i'm poor, and when speding 1700 on a 24", i shouldn't have to take a gamble on whether my machine is going to bog down.

i'm waiting for some sort of speed bump.

i don't need a bigger HD. I have a 40gig internal on my ibook and an 80 gig external, and that's more than enough.

Apple will either wait until next year to update the iMac or give it a speed bump... 2.0 to 2.2, 2.4 to 2.6 etc.

After August's introduction of the current Al iMac I feel that Apple's attention is more on upgrading the Mac Pro or as mentioned might introduce the ultra portable mac. But as always with Apple you never know.

If you're worried about speed bump, just get the 2.8. No higher clockspeed than 2.8 until third quarter 2008 for Penryn.

I think i'd be fine with 2.66. And the point is that I want a speed bump without a price bump. I don't think 400mhz is worth an extra $500. that's ridiculous.

It's just $250 extra if you built-to-order the 24" 2.4GHz and upgrade to 2.8, making it only 14% more for 17% faster processor, not a bad deal. Besides, you're hardly going to notice the difference between 2.4 and 2.66 or 2.66 and 2.8, so why not get what's available now?

Any other bets ? :D

Considering to buy an iMac next week, should i wait for January (macworld) or to some other traditionally announcements ?

the only thing I've heard about iMac in macworld is a matte screen.
I'm really stuck now with this question, buy or wait.

Should I stay or should I go ?
