Sorry for the newbie question but...how do you use Mac TextEdit to save a file as .plist?

I'm trying to implement the Power Tip of the Month from the September 2010 issue of Macworld (macworld.com/6308), which calls for using a text editor to save a script in a .plist file. I try using the built in TextEdit, but the only options are Rich Text Format, Webpage/Archive, or MS Word. How does one use TextEdit to create a .plist? Thanks.

If you have the file formatted as a plist should, just save it as a txt and change the extension to plist. You'll obviously need to show the extension to do this (or change it in the Cmd-I info window).
