Madcatz R.A.T. TE

I was wondering if RAT TE mouse from madcatz needs additional software or driver for basic mouse functions.
I don't like the idea of running an extra software on OS for the mouse and also i heard it is required for RAT7 and MMO7 but haven't heard anything about TE.

For basic function, you don't need the software or driver. However, once you wake the Mac from sleep, the back / forward browser buttons stop working. You need to power off / on with the mouse plugged in to get this back. I raised a ticket with them about this and they asked me to be patient for a driver. Needless to say, the mouse is in a drawer somewhere, not being used.
