Reading through the fine print on Madden 25 Anniversary Edition is says:

For fans who are not currently DirecTV subscribers but are able to receive DirecTV service, they will receive a promo code entitling them to $10 off per month for their first year of service and one year of NFL Sunday Ticket Max at no additional charge.

For fans who are already DirecTV and NFL Sunday Ticket Max subscribers, you can access NFL Sunday Ticket on your computer, tablet, and mobile devices using your current DirecTV username and password.

For fans unable to receive DirecTV service, each Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition will include a unique code to access the 2013 regular season (17 weeks) of NFL Sunday Ticket on computers, tablets, and mobile devices- including access to the award-winning Red Zone Channel.

Tricky wording.

Are fans who ARE eligible to receive it, but DON'T want to sign up... still eligible for just the code?

It's not as clear as I would like, but am willing to roll the dice. I have no intention of getting Directv, but do want to stream NFL Sunday Ticket. If it does not work out for some reason, past experience tells me Amazon will compensate in someway.

True.

Luckily this is only available through Amazon, their customer service is pretty top notch.

I'm wondering how they know if you're available for DirecTV? Couldn't you just use a proxy and change your location if it's location based?

When you sign up it will ask you for an address, it will use that to see if you can receive DirecTV. Either way it should work, the code is for streaming on PC, it won't work on the PS3 though which would be a huge bonus.

Hoping this is the case.

I'm worried it will require me to sign up for DirecTV if I live in an eligible area (which I do).

From the FAQ (same link as yours):
Do I need a DirecTV subscription to access NFL Sunday Ticket?
No, it's not necessary to have a DirecTV subscription. Each Anniversary Edition includes a code that can be redeemed to access the full 2013 regular season (17 weeks) of NFL Sunday Ticket on computer, tablet, and mobile devices.

I poured over the fine print a dozen times before I bought it as I just want the streaming option to my computer (I do not have DTV nor do I want DTV).

Thanks, that's good info.

thanks everyone for sharing this info. i've already paid for nfl sunday ticket (not maxx) and am planning to get madden 25. i guess i'll consider this edition now

I'm interested in this as well. Don't want DirectTV so the stream would be fine. I have the idea in my head to use appletv to mirror my desktop or iPad to a smaller tv to watch.

I wonder how the stream quality is though..

Received my copy today. Appears to be as advertised on my laptop. Just went to the given website and logged in with the username and password from the insert. No questions asked about location, etc. However, can't get it to work so far in my iPhone yet. Says to install the NFL Sunday ticket iOS app. When I log in, it gives me an "error processing request." I'm hoping that has something to do with the season not starting yet.
