Made a purchase of my first Mac!

I recently purchased a older mac for my first mac. I don't know if i paid for too much, 265.00, here is the description. I know it would need a lot of upgrades. But I'm worried that I paid too much. Please let me know.

Missing Zip Bezel, one USB port broken

Any scratches, cracks, etc.?
Minor cosmetic scratches, broken USB port in back. Missing front Zip bezel.


Would this computer run tiger pretty fast. Is this computer really outdated? I hope not!

That's a good deal. You first upgrade should be Mac OS X Tiger or Panther, if you don't already have it. I know your description says that it has 9.2 installed currently. I think it will actually run faster if it has Tiger on it than if it has the older systems on it.

If you're not an EDU student, you can find Tiger for $100 at lots of online stores.

Well actually I got it on Ebay! Suprising!

It does have one broken usb port though!

It didn't come with a keyboard or mouse, which I'll need to buy. Would this run iMovie in iLfe 05 pretty quick with 1gb ram.

Does this take the old old airport card? (Gosh I hope not )

Congrats! Even with that system (once you add more RAM), should be able to keep up nicely.

Congrats on an excellent deal!
This is a great machine and still very capable.
I too would go with Tiger and add more ram to it.
And Yes it does use the older airport card
