To give a little back story first, first about a year and a half ago I bought a new head uniit for my truck that was iPod ready. This was great since i could connect my ipod and the head unit would control the play/ pause etc. functions plus charge it at the same time. Then I got my iPhone and it worked as well but I would get the ubiquitous want to go into airplane mode prompt with slightly diminished sound quality if I did not put it into airplane mode.

This has now lead me to my current predicament. I purchase the MotionX GPS Drive app for my phone for the obvious reason. I connect my phone and try to use the app and it works great accept that I can not hear the voice prompts well since the music the doesn't pause first, or the music level does not diminish. I talked to the MotionX team, who are friggin awesome by the way, and they told me that thanks to the "made for iPod" feature it will be impossible to fix. Just thought I would share my expierence.
