mag safe 2 on next gen iPhone??

Hey I'm in the apple store checking out this new retina macbook pro (which is great btw) and i couldn't help but notice that the mag safe 2 looks like an iPhone power source but smaller. wouldn't this match the "smaller" connector instead of the 30-pin we're used to? clever by apple if they're trying to make a similar standard. ideas?

I assume the MagSafe is just a power supply. The connector for the iPhone has to do much more than transfer power. So unless the MagSafe is modified then no.

No. All of the pins are currently used in the Magsafe. Plus can you imagine having a data connection broken when your Magsafe gets ripped off your iPhone? It'd probably brick.

Highly doubt it as the MagSafe 2 is only for the power supply
