Mag Safe Extension Cord Problem

I just got my first mac today, so excuse me if I mess up somewhere...

I just purchased a macbook pro that came with a mag-safe power adapter, as well as an extension cord for the power brick. I put the extension cord on the brick, and am having deep trouble removing it. How do you take off the extension off of the magsafe brick? I feel like I'm gonna break it by just pulling it...

Please help me as I don't want anything to go wrong, everything has been great until now.

Just pull it upwards (parallel to the visible seams).

Your User Guide should include a section called USING YOUR POWER ADAPTER, like shown here on page 30: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/macbook_pro_users_guide.pdf
