Looking to buy the odd digital magazine and read it using my macBook Pro, whats available for this. Thanks, appreciate it.

Try Zinio or Magzter. They have flash-based web apps for reading magazines you've subscribed to, and iOS/Android apps where you can download the magazines. The reading experience on iPad or Tablet is far better than on the web though. Zinio web app makes better use of larger screens than the Magzter web app.

Zinio has an actual desktop app too. It's pretty good.

I have gotten so many freebies from them too.
