Magazine not showing up in newsstand

I hope for this to be one of few really dumb questions - I bought a magazine -single issue-last night and it was there. I bought the next month's issue of the same magazine, and now the previous one does not appear in my news stand. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you!
