Does anyone make a mag cover (similar to the ipad 2) for the air? I think it would be useful, as a protecter, and also as a laptop stand, akin to the Aviiq stand:

yeah I saw it too, looks good if a bit pricy, and non adjustable in angles.

The iPad Smart Cover (which is what I assume you mean by magcover = "mag" for magnetic?) works because the iPad 2 has magnets built into the case. The MacBook Air case, although metal, does not have magnetic properties. You could glue magnets to it yourself, like some owners of original iPads that wanted to use the new covers. But unless Apple decides to put magnets into the MacBook Air body, nobody is going to be making magnetic cases for it.

If you're looking for a case that could also double as a stand, the closest I've seen is this leather "bookbindery" case:

It has a small spine, so it flips over for a little bit of a lift.

I have no experience with the case or the company, so this is not a recommendation, just something I've seen around.

I just happened across this Mizar case on ebay that seems to be similar to what the OP is after even if it's not magnetic. I was told it weighs about 250g. (In case anybody else is digging through old threads and it's useful!)
