Magic Garageband files?

Where does Apple keep the magic garageband files? Somehow they're not on my computer anymore.... (???) when i go to use garageband, there's not "style" options to choose from, just black boxes. However, on my dad's mac, garageband works perfectly. If I can find the files, I can just copy them over, however, I haven't had any success looking for them.

Any help?
