Hi folks,

About a few days ago, I've decided to clean my keyboard and I ended up using wet wipes to clean the surface. Not sure what happened afterwards, there has been some sort of malfunction on the keys. Total random button adjusts the screen brightness or pressing D or G directs me to the spotlight search function. I was wondering has anybody experienced that before?

Sounds like the liquid from the wipes seeped underneath the keys and messed it up. You could try turning it upside down and running a blow drier across the keys for a while to see if that helps, but there may be permanent damage.

The best way to clean the keyboard is to use a 1:1 solution of distilled water and rubbing alcohol and spray it onto a microfiber cloth to wipe down the keyboard (don't spray the keyboard directly). Don't saturate the cloth. The rubbing alcohol allows the solution to evaporate much more quickly than plain water.

I did not use for 5 days and the issue still persists here.

You can try totally disconnecting the keyboard by turning your keyboard off, then going to System Preferences > Bluetooth > right click the keyboard and click "remove" (NOT "disconnect"). Then turn your keyboard on again and re-pair it. You may want to then restart the computer as well. If the issue persists, then I'd assume your keyboard is permanently damaged due to water/moisture and needs to be replaced.

Hmmm. A wet wipe on a powered on electronic device, and now it doesn't work? I cannot begin to imagine what went wrong "afterwards". #lessonLearned
