Magic Keyboard freezing intermittently

I really like the MK for my 12.9 iPad Pro 2020 so far. It has far improved the user experience when trying to do actual work.
I have one concern at this stage- the trackpad and/or keyboard would freeze at random times.

For example, when using Microsoft Word or any other app, using the trackpad to click on something fails to produce a response on-screen even though I am still able to move the pointer around. At the same time, typing on the keyboard stops working as well.

The only thing that fixes it is detaching the iPad Pro from the MK and reattaching it. The problem is that this is only a temporary fix as the same problem occurs time and time again.

Anyone else seen this? I reported it to Apple Care and am currently waiting to receive a replacement (not under my AC plan as still within the first 14 days);

Yes, From the beginning I saw it fairly constantly and then so constantly that I had 3 phone calls with Apple. They finally replaced it (10 days ago) but I have to say that it’s happening again. Not as frequently but happening. I think most often when I’m working split screen. I’m saving my Case numbers! Good luck with yours I love the keyboard otherwise.

I have the same problem. Not only does the keyboard freeze, but the iPads own keyboard is frozen if I try to switch to that. For a while, it would work to detach the iPad from the keypad and reattach. Now I have to turn off the iPad and start again. This is a serious nuisance. How do I report this to Apple? I tReid a chat with Apple and they just told me to take the thing back to Costco where I bought it as a packaged deal with my iPad.

Same here. Sometimes even the cursor won’t tap into the spot I pick. Randomly, when typing on Keynote or Notes, the keyboard won‘t type. Had to detached and reattached the keyboard, sometimes the iPad needs to be rebooted.
More often happened during split views.

I don’t think this is a hardware issue, more likely to be the iPad OS bug.
Hopefully they fix this in the future updates.

my magickeyboard was replaced due to same issues, but it has not helped

Same issues exactly for me. i have a 2018 11 inch and a Magic keyboard and this happens fairly regularly on multiple versions of iPad OS. Pain In the rear.
