The wife uses a 2020 iPad Pro + magic keyboard. The magic keyboard is driving me crazy. Why are the keys so f loud? Is this thing built to resonate sound?

Any way dampen the sound?

Alternative tactile keyboards you would recommend?

yes, I’m hypersensitive to noise and am breaking out in a sweat as I listen to this racket across the room.

The volume would be partially controlled by the amount of force she uses to type. I don’t consider it to be a loud nor a quiet keyboard.

It is a pretty standard keyboard - there are even louder clicky keyboards out there - headphones?

I don’t mind the sound of the keys, but I find the loud click of the trackpad out of character with the quality (and cost) of the accessory. I wish it had a trackpad like the MacBook, but smaller. I’ve tried enabling “Tap to Click”, but then I end up causing all sorts of unintentional actions.

I recently bought this keyboard and the keys are about as loud as I’d expect them to be. They’re quieter than the original magic keyboard I had for the 2018 iPad Pro and I’d guess not much different than the regular magic keyboards that Apple sells. If this amount of noise bothers you just be thankful she’s not using a MacBook with butterfly keys. You’d have already walked over and smashed it on the ground by now o_O

I bought the new iPad Magic Keyboard yesterday, and today I’m googling the question about wtf is this thing so loud? It’s not the clickiness of the keys, but something about the resonating/acoustics…. it sounds ‘hollow’, like thumping on a hollow barrel kinda. Hard to explain, but yea, annoying as hell. Dangit. I like everything else about it though, so think ima haveta learn to cope with the sound. But NO WAY could I bring this thing to bed or use it while someone is sittin nearby in a quiet-ish room. 😢
