Yeah. I sometimes have this same issue. sometimes it works with 1 click, other times 2. Not sure if its the keyboard itself. I sometime get the trackpad mouse to freeze. have to remove and re-attach.
Have you tried holding the key for a half second longer?
I think there‘s a built in delay of a fraction of a second from keypress, compared to other keys, to prevent momentary pinky slips north of backspace from locking the screen accidentally all the time.
