I have preordered a 2021 iPad Pro. I currently have a 3rd gen iPad Pro with a Magic Keyboard that will go to a family member. I am planning to get a keyboard case for the new one, and am considering the MK vs the Brydge Max. I like the functionality of the current MK, but my main gripe is that the plastic covering on the outside of the case has worn and is peeling off in places, primarily close to the edges. I do not abuse it - it goes to work with me in a separate pocket of a messenger bag every day, then sits on my desk and is used like a laptop during the day. For that kind of $$, I’m a bit irked that it’s not more durable. I have recently purchased a vinyl skin for it to keep the peeling from getting worse, and would probably get a skin from the outset if I go with the MK again. I’m not super concerned with weight because most of the time I use it like a laptop. I do a bit of art with the iPad, and when I do, I remove it from the keyboard case.

Thoughts on functionality of the Brydge vs the MK? And is anyone else having the same peeling issue with their MK?

I’ve used the Magic Keyboard for about a year and the Brydge Pro+ with the new firmware for about a month.

A key difference for me is that scrolling and trackpad accuracy just aren’t comparable on the Brydge. Scrolling on the 120hz display makes it painfully clear that you’re using something different.

I think for my 2021 iPad Pro, i’ll keep my Magic Keyboard and sell my Brydge keyboards with my old iPad.

I will say that the viewing angles, design, and function keys are all huge features that I will miss. I’m curious about the Logitech keyboard with trackpads, as they use the Smart Connector instead of bluetooth.

Any chance the 2021 Brydge would work better with the 2021 iPP?

The brydge does look better with a far bigger trackpad and better material. Function keys and backlit is obviously great.

MK feel is so good though but i dunno the difference keys wise. I think for the price it’s good value given it offers more.
